  • 1 cup (150g) Fresh Strawberries Hulled and left whole for stewing
  • 8 oz (225g) Cream Cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup (50g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 tsp (5ml) Vanilla Extract
  • 1 box (15.25 oz / 432g) Yellow Cake Mix Dry mix, do not prepare per box instructions
  • 3/4 cup (170g) Unsalted Butter Melted
  • 1/2 cup (75g) Fresh Strawberries Sliced for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13 white ceramic baking dish.
  2. Spread the strawberry pie filling and the whole fresh strawberries into the bottom of the dish in an even layer.
Assembly
  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Drop tablespoon-sized dollops over the strawberry base.
  2. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top, then drizzle the melted butter across the entire surface to cover any dry spots.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the strawberry sauce is bubbling through the gaps and the crust is a deep golden-brown.
