Ingredients

Strawberry Basil Chicken Components
  • 1 lb Chicken Breasts 450g, boneless skinless
  • 1 tsp Dried Herb Seasoning Italian blend or Oregano/Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil 15ml
  • 4 slices Fresh Mozzarella 115g
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries 150g, sliced
  • 10 leaves Fresh Basil Chiffonade ribbons
  • 1/2 cup Balsamic Vinegar 120ml
  • 1 tbsp Honey 15ml

Equipment

  • 1 Cast-Iron Skillet For the best sear.
  • 1 Small saucepan For the balsamic reduction.

Method

Prepare the Chicken
  1. Pat chicken dry and season both sides with dried herbs, salt, and pepper.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear chicken for 6 minutes until golden-brown char appears.
Melt and Reduce
  1. Flip chicken, top with mozzarella, and cover for 2-3 minutes until cheese is fully melted.
  2. Simmer balsamic and honey in a separate pan until thickened into a mahogany mahogany glaze.
Assemble and Plate
  1. Place chicken on a plate. Layer sliced strawberries and basil ribbons on top of the cheese.
  2. Zig-zag the balsamic glaze over the fruit and cheese before serving.

Notes

Always use fresh basil for the best aromatic experience.
Reduce the glaze until it's thick enough to coat a spoon for the perfect zig-zag look.
