Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 box (311g) Vanilla Wafer Cookies Divided for layers and topping
  • 4-6 large Fresh Bananas Sliced into circular rounds
  • 2 cups (480ml) Cold Whole Milk
  • 1 box (100g) Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix Or banana flavor
  • 1 can (396g) Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 8 oz (225g) Cream Cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 2 cups (480ml) Heavy Whipping Cream Divided

Equipment

  • 1 Glass Trifle Dish Or a 9x13 glass baking dish
  • 1 Electric Hand Mixer

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk until completely smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk instant pudding mix with cold milk for 2 minutes. Fold the pudding into the cream cheese mixture.
  3. Whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks. Fold half of the whipped cream into the custard until a pale yellow color is achieved.
  4. In a glass dish, layer vanilla wafers, then sliced bananas, then the thick custard. Repeat until full.
  5. Top with remaining whipped cream and crushed wafer crumbs. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, let the pudding sit overnight so the wafers soften.
Toss bananas in lemon juice to prevent browning if serving the next day.
