Ingredients

Gnocchi & Sauce
  • 1 lb (450g) Potato Gnocchi Shelf-stable or refrigerated
  • 2 tbsp (28g) Unsalted Butter Divided
  • 1 cup (240ml) Heavy Cream Full fat for best results
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 1/2 cup (50g) Parmesan Cheese Freshly grated
  • 1/2 tsp (1g) Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Chives Thinly sliced

Equipment

  • 1 Non-stick Skillet Large enough to sear gnocchi in a single layer.
  • 1 Whisk

Method

Prepare the Gnocchi
  1. Heat 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add gnocchi in a single layer and sear until a golden-brown crust forms on the flat surfaces (about 2-3 mins per side). Remove and set aside.
  2. Lower heat to medium, add remaining butter and garlic. Sauté for 1 minute, then pour in heavy cream. Simmer until slightly reduced.
  3. Whisk in grated parmesan and black pepper until the sauce is thick, glossy, and velvety with visible cheese specks.
  4. Toss the seared gnocchi into the sauce until heavily coated. Garnish with parsley, chives, and red pepper flakes before serving in a shallow bowl.

Notes

Ensure gnocchi are dry before searing for the best crust.
Use high-quality Parmigiano Reggiano for a smoother sauce.
