Skillet Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil For mushrooms
  • 8 oz Cremini Mushrooms Sliced (227g)
  • 1 lb Ground Turkey 93% lean (454g)
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil For turkey
  • 3 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 5 oz Baby Spinach Fresh (142g)
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt To taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper Freshly cracked

Equipment

  • 1 12-inch Cast-Iron Skillet Ensures even heat and a perfect sear.
  • 1 Wooden Spoon or Spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and cook without stirring for 3-4 minutes until golden brown sear marks appear.
  2. Push mushrooms to the edge and add the second tbsp of oil. Add turkey and crumble. Cook until browned and juices run clear.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Season with salt and cracked black pepper.
  4. Add spinach in batches, folding gently until just wilted and still vibrant green. Remove from heat immediately.

Notes

Use a cast iron skillet for the best sear.
Fresh spinach is preferred over frozen for visual appeal.
