Ingredients

Shrimp Base
  • 1.5 lbs Jumbo Shrimp 16/20 count, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp Neutral Oil Avocado or grapeseed oil
Honey Glaze
  • 1/2 cup Honey Liquid variety
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic Mined fine
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice Freshly squeezed
Garnish
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Cracked Black Pepper Freshly ground

Equipment

  • 8 Wooden Skewers Soaked in water for 30 minutes
  • 1 Outdoor Grill or Grill Pan
  • 1 Basting Brush

Method

Preparation
  1. Submerge wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent scorching.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, and lemon juice. Simmer over low heat for 5 minutes until glossy and slightly thickened.
Grilling
  1. Thread 4-5 dried jumbo shrimp onto each skewer. Brush with oil.
  2. Place skewers on a preheated high-heat grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes until dark brown char marks appear.
  3. Flip the skewers, brush generously with the honey glaze, and cook for another 2 minutes until opaque and glistening.
Finishing
  1. Remove from heat. Top with chopped parsley and a heavy dusting of cracked black pepper.

Notes

Always pat shrimp dry before oiling to ensure a hard sear.
Apply the honey glaze only in the last minute of cooking to avoid burning the sugars.
