Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb (454g) Jumbo Shrimp 16/20 count, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tbsp (56g) Unsalted Butter European-style preferred
  • 6 cloves Fresh Garlic Minced
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Neutral Oil Avocado or light olive oil
  • 1/4 cup (15g) Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper Freshly cracked
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt To taste

Equipment

  • 1 Dark Cast Iron Skillet Essential for the perfect sear.
  • Paper towels To pat the shrimp dry.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pat the jumbo shrimp completely dry with paper towels to ensure a proper sear. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat a dark cast iron skillet over medium-high heat with the oil until shimmering.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer. Sear for 90 seconds until pink and golden on the bottom. Flip the shrimp.
  4. Add butter and minced garlic. As the butter melts into a golden-yellow sauce, spoon it over the shrimp for 1 minute until garlic is translucent.
  5. Remove from heat. Toss in the finely chopped parsley until the shrimp are heavily coated. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the pan; sear in batches if necessary.
Use high-quality butter for a richer emulsified sauce.
