Popper Ingredients
  • 12 large Jalapeno Peppers Halved and deseeded
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese 225g, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese 115g, shredded
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 cup Panko Breadcrumbs 30g
  • 4 slices Bacon 60g, cooked until crispy and crumbled
  • 1 tsp Butter Melted, for the breadcrumbs

  • 1 Baking Sheet Lined with parchment paper
  • 1 Mixing Bowl For the cheese filling

Method
 

Prep
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove seeds and membranes using a spoon.
Fill and Top
  1. In a bowl, stir together softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and onion powder until smooth.
  2. Fill each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture.
  3. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter. Press breadcrumbs and bacon bits onto the cheese filling.
Bake
  1. Bake for 18-20 minutes until the peppers are softened and the skin is slightly blistered. Broil for 1-2 minutes if needed for extra golden color.

Notes

Use gloves when handling jalapenos to avoid skin irritation.
Substitute Panko with crushed pork rinds for a low-carb version.
