Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground Beef (80/20) 454g
  • 2 slices Sharp Orange Cheddar Cheese Thick cut
  • 4 slices Smoked Bacon Crispy and wavy
  • 2 large Eggs Fresh for liquid yolks
  • 2 Brioche Buns Buttered and toasted
  • 1 tsp Dried Parsley For garnish
  • 1 tsp Cracked Black Pepper To taste

Equipment

  • 1 Cast-Iron Skillet For searing the beef
  • 1 Non-stick Pan For the perfect fried egg

Method

Prepare and Sear
  1. Divide 1 lb (454g) of ground beef into two thick patties. Season generously with salt and cracked black pepper.
  2. Sear in a hot cast-iron skillet for 4 minutes per side until a dark crust forms. Top with cheddar and melt.
Toppings and Assembly
  1. Fry bacon until crispy. In a separate pan, fry eggs sunny-side-up until whites are set but yolks are liquid.
  2. Place patty on toasted brioche bun bottom, layer bacon, add the egg, and garnish with dried parsley and pepper.

Notes

Use cold beef to ensure a better sear without overcooking the center.
Don't skip toasting the buns; it provides a necessary structural barrier for the egg yolk.
