Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup (227g) Unsalted Butter High quality
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 2 tablespoons (30g) Grainy Dijon Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) Dried Red Chili Flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon (1g) Coarse Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1/4 cup (15g) Fresh Parsley Finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons (8g) Fresh Chives Chopped
  • 4 thick slices Rustic Sourdough Bread For serving

Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Small Ceramic Bowl For serving

Method

Make the Butter Sauce
  1. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat until it becomes a vibrant golden-yellow liquid.
  2. Whisk in the grainy Dijon mustard and minced garlic until swirls are visible in the butter.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in the red chili flakes, black pepper, parsley, and chives.
Prepare the Bread
  1. Toast the sourdough bread until the edges are dark golden-brown and charred.

Notes

Let the butter cool slightly before adding fresh herbs to keep them bright green.
Use a cast-iron skillet to get the best charred edges on your sourdough.
