Ingredients

Casserole Components
  • 2 cans (16.3 oz each) refrigerated biscuit dough cut into quarters
  • 1 jar (24 oz) thick red pizza sauce 710ml
  • 2 cups (225g) mozzarella cheese shredded, bubbly and slightly browned
  • 5 oz (140g) pepperoni slices thin, crispy-edged
  • 1 tsp (5ml) dried oregano flakes
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) granulated parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • 1 Rectangular white ceramic baking dish 9x13 inch size is ideal
  • 1 Large Mixing Bowl

Method

Prep and Cut
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a white ceramic baking dish.
  2. Open the refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into 4 equal chunks.
Assemble
  1. In a large bowl, toss the biscuit pieces with the thick red pizza sauce until fully coated.
  2. Spread the sauced biscuits into the baking dish. Cover with a heavy layer of mozzarella cheese.
  3. Layer the pepperoni slices on top, then dust with dried oregano flakes and granulated parmesan.
Bake
  1. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the biscuits are golden-brown and puffed, and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.

Notes

Par-bake the biscuit pieces for 8 minutes if you prefer a less doughy interior.
Use a thick pizza sauce rather than marinara to prevent the 'bubbles' from getting soggy.
