- Place crushed pineapple and mandarin oranges in a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl. Let drain for 15 minutes to remove all excess liquid.
- In a large bowl, combine whipped topping, drained pineapple, and marshmallows. Use a spatula to gently fold until combined.
- Gently fold in the mandarin oranges and half of the shredded coconut, being careful not to break the orange segments.
- Top with remaining coconut and place three cherries with stems on top. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.

Drain the fruit until nearly dry to prevent a runny salad.
