Baked Feta Rolls with Hot Chili Honey (Crispy & Salty)

  • 1 package (450g) Phyllo Pastry thawed
  • 8 oz (225g) Feta Cheese cut into batons
  • 1/2 cup (115g) Unsalted Butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) Olive Oil for brushing
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Honey clear and floral
  • 1 teaspoon (2g) Red Chili Flakes adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon (9g) Black Sesame Seeds for garnish

  • 1 Baking Sheet Lined with parchment paper
  • 1 Pastry Brush
  • 1 Small saucepan For the chili honey

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the feta into batons.
  2. Layer two sheets of phyllo, brushing each with melted butter. Place a feta baton at the edge, fold in the sides, and roll tightly.
  3. Place rolls on the baking sheet. Brush with butter and olive oil. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden-brown with charred edges.
  4. Simmer honey and chili flakes in a saucepan for 2 minutes over low heat until glossy and amber.
  5. Drizzle the warm rolls with the chili honey and sprinkle with black sesame seeds and extra chili flakes.

Notes

Keep phyllo covered with a damp towel to prevent cracking.
Ensure feta is patted dry to prevent soggy pastry bottoms.
